Impiego di metodologie integrate per lo studio di siti archeologici: alcuni esempi rappresentativi
Abstract
L’impiego delle antenne satellitari DGPS permette di georeferenziare con estrema facilità strutture antiche sparse sul territorio anche a considerevole distanza e rende possibile delimitare e rilevare aree archeologiche specifiche, restituendole in forma di poligoni. Inoltre, l’uso del DGPS in modalità cinematica favorisce l’acquisizione di una grande quantità di punti in un tempo relativamente limitato e con un notevole livello di accuratezza, facilitando la restituzione delle curve di livello e degli aspetti morfologici del terreno. In questo lavoro sono descritte nuove procedure per la georeferenziazione degli elementi territoriali, basate sull’utilizzo del DGPS in modo innovativo e integrato con altri moderni strumenti topografici. I casi di studio citati sono relativi a siti archeologici che presentano notevoli differenze, da un lato per le caratteristiche geomorfologiche, l’epoca storica, l’ambito culturale e le problematiche connesse, dall’altro lato per la scala d’indagine, i metodi ed il grado di approfondimento della ricerca archeologica su di essi effettuata.
The use of DGPS (Digital Ground Positioning System) satellite antennas give us the possibility of georeferencing, in a very easy way, different ancient structures spread on the territory and allow the delimitation and the geometrical survey of specific archaeological areas. Moreover, the use of DGPS in kinematic mode permits to acquire a large number of points in a relatively short time and with a good level of precision, making easy the reconstruction of the contour lines and of the morphological aspects of the ground. In the present work new procedures for the georeferencing of territorial elements, founded on the use of DGPS integrated with other modern topographical instruments, are presented. The case – studies examined show great differences; on one side regarding the geomorphologic characteristics, the historical period, the cultural environment and the related problems, on the other for the different scale of the research, for the procedures and the level of the investigation of the archaeological research.
