Cesare Battisti e «La Cultura Geografica». Il socialista trentino e la divulgazione scientifica della Geografia

Abstract

Il periodico «La Cultura Geografica», che nacque nel 1899 e venne diretto da Cesare Battisti e da Renato Biasutti, ebbe vita breve, ma costituì un importante tentativo foriero di ulteriori sviluppi nel campo delle scienze territoriali italiane. Nonostante le difficoltà e la breve durata, il quindicinale rappresentò il tentativo di affrontare il problema della diffusione delle scienze geografiche, al preciso scopo di favorirne lo studio e la conoscenza, mantenendo però uno stile marcatamente scientifico.

The review «La Cultura Geografica» that was born in 1899 and directed by Cesare Battisti and Renato Biasutti had a short life but it was an important attempt to help further developments in the field of the Italian territorial sciences. Despite the difficulties and the short duration the fortnight represented the attempt to address the problem of spreading the geographical sciences to the precise purpose of favouring the study and the knowledge but maintaining a markedly scientific style.
