Until 1999, «Notiziario» was the journal of the Italian Center for Historical and Geographical Studies, to which many scholars contribute. It actively participated in the Italian scientific debate through the publication of scientific articles concerning in particular the history of cartography and geography, historical geography, the history of travel and exploration, the applied geohistorical sources.
