Un portale web per (ri)scoprire il territorio vicentino: l’inventariazione digitale della cartografia storica del Castello di Thiene

UN PORTALE WEB PER (RI)SCOPRIRE IL TERRITORIO VICENTINO: L’INVENTARIAZIONE DIGITALE DELLA CARTOGRAFIA STORICA DEL CASTELLO DI THIENE – L’Archivio privato Porto Colleoni Thiene, conservato a Thiene (VI), in un’antica dimora quattrocentesca del casato vicentino di proprietà dei da Porto, raccoglie documenti di vario genere prodotti nei secoli XI-XX (originali e in copia), tra cui anche un ricco corpus di disegni, costituito da oltre 545 unità documentarie. Tra queste si riscontrano circa 450 cartografie storiche e rappresentazioni manoscritte di particolare interesse paesaggistico, geografico e vedutistico, realizzate dalla seconda metà del Cinquecento fino ai primi decenni dell’Ottocento. Di recente, il fondo è stato oggetto di un nuovo censimento e descrizione inventariale informatizzata, grazie a un contributo della Regione del Veneto finalizzato alla sua conoscenza, conservazione e valorizzazione. L’inventario, realizzato grazie all’adozione del software archivistico xDams Open Source, è liberamente accessibile nel Portale degli archivi della Biblioteca civica Bertoliana di Vicenza, grazie a un’innovativa piattaforma web realizzata da Regesta.exe.

A WEB PORTAL TO (RE)DISCOVER THE VICENZA AREA: THE DIGITAL INVENTORY OF THE HISTORICAL CARTOGRAPHY OF THIENE CASTLE – The Porto Colleoni Thiene Private Archive, preserved in Thiene (VI), in an ancient fifteenth-century residence of the Vicenza da Porto family, collects documents of various kinds produced in the 11th-20th centuries (originals and copies), including a rich corpus of drawings, consisting of over 545 documentary units. These include around 450 historical cartographies and manuscript representations of particular interest in terms of landscape, geography and views, produced from the second half of the 16th century until the first decades of the 19th century. The collection has recently undergone a new census and computerised inventory description, thanks to a grant from the Veneto Region aimed at its knowledge, conservation and valorisation. The inventory, realised thanks to the adoption of the xDams Open Source archival software, is freely accessible in the Archive Portal of the Bertoliana Civic Library in Vicenza, thanks to an innovative web platform created by Regesta.exe.
