Il Laboratorio geocartografico “Giuseppe Caraci” tra didattica, ricerca e terza missione

Il Laboratorio geocartografico Giuseppe Caraci è una struttura del Dipartimento di Studi umanistici dell’Università degli Studi Roma Tre. Nel rispetto della sua tradizione e del patrimonio bibliografico e cartografico che esso conserva, esso opera a sostegno della didattica universitaria e post-universitaria e promuove la ricerca scientifica avanzata nell’ambito delle scienze geografiche, cartografiche e storico-geografiche, principalmente attraverso l’acquisizione, la salvaguardia e la catalogazione di materiale cartografico e documentario, come anche mediante la sperimentazione e l’applicazione di tecniche informatiche per la conservazione, valorizzazione e fruizione dei beni culturali. Scopo del presente contributo è ricostruire una sintesi generale delle principali attività, e degli esiti ad esse connessi, portate avanti dal Laboratorio in questi suoi primi venti anni di vita nel campo della didattica, della ricerca e più recentemente nell’ambito delle azioni di terza missione.
The “Giuseppe Caraci” Geo-cartographic Laboratory is a structure of the Department of Humanistic Studies (Roma Tre University). Linking to its tradition and of the bibliographical and cartographical heritage that it preserves, it works supporting university and postuniversity teaching and promotes advanced scientific research in the geographical, cartographical and geo-historical sciences, mainly through the acquisition, the preservation and cataloging cartographic and documentary materials, as well as through experimentation and application of computer techniques for the promotion, and support of cultural heritage. The purpose of this contribution is to reconstruct a general summary of the main activities, and the results connected to them, carried out by the Laboratory in these first twenty years of life in the field of teaching, researching and, more recently, in third mission activities.
